100 people later.

After hours of wandering Portland and tentatively approaching complete strangers, Devan and I are proud to announce that we reached our goal of photographing 100 people that we had never met before.

It was an amazing and exhausting experience.

There will be more photos and stories coming soon. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek.

We’re Ready.

Here’s the sign that we will have with us when we decide to sit for a little while. (We are bringing folding chairs and a dropleaf table.)

Getting Ready for Tomorrow

Devan arrived in Vancouver this evening and we spent some time going through our equipment and discussing our plan for tomorrow. We’re so excited!

The Beginning

On Saturday, Devan and I will head into Portland with our cameras. Our goal? Photograph 100 people that we do not know in one day.

It's pretty intimidating. But, it's also really, really exciting. We have both been giggly for the last few days as we brainstormed some ideas for how we would go about it. We plan to find populated areas and set up shop on a street corner with a sign. We will probably alternate that with walking around and approaching people (eek!).

You'll see the portraits here. Along with a picture, we're going to try to find out a little bit about each person - their age, occupation. And then they'll no longer be people we do not know. They'll be people we met once.

This is going to be awesome.
